The Discreet Vase, Handcrafted Porcelain, Morin-Heights

A word from the artist Gréta Jonckherre of Morin Heights:

Each vase in this series is the imprint of a suspended moment. I shaped an elastomeric sealing membrane, which I folded in every direction, as one wrinkles a thought or a memory. Then, I poured plaster into it. And it was the plaster, in its gravity, that chose which folds to open, which to close. The final form no longer entirely belongs to me: it is the result of a dialogue between my gestures and the material. Each model created is unique, impossible to reproduce. A singular imprint, like a frozen trace of a free movement.

Les Discrètes do not impose themselves, they let themselves be glimpsed.
