Isabelle Murray was born in Saguenay. Attracted to art and design, the artist moved to the Lower St. Lawrence for her studies. She has lived there for 20 years now. It is in Rivière-du-Loup, near the river, that she works, lives, and finds inspiration. She paints the St. Lawrence River: its light, its colors, and its vast spaces. Strongly inspired by the daily beauty of the maritime landscape of the Lower St. Lawrence, the artist creates works that highlight the estuarial zone of the St. Lawrence River in contemporary art. Like abstract horizons turned towards the future, her creations are for her a way to establish a point of contact with the richness and beauty of the estuary. The works are imbued with a spirit of balance and contemplation. Coming from the world of graphic design, she began this series of works in 2008.

In recent years, the artist has explored combinations of softer and more organic color palettes. Her signature has evolved with greater finesse and detail. She is interested in winter maritime landscapes, and will create a new series titled "Calme blanc" (White Calm), in collaboration with Mélusine. Several of her works have also been selected and acquired by the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent over the years for the museum's annual auction. Isabelle Murray exhibits again on several occasions in Trois-Pistoles, a place she cherishes....
