Isabelle Murray was born in Saguenay. Attracted to art and design, the artist moved to Bas-Saint-Laurent for her studies. She has lived there for 20 years now. It is in Rivière-du-Loup, near the river, that she works, lives, and finds her inspiration. She paints the St. Lawrence River: its light, its colors, and its vast spaces. Strongly inspired by the beauty of the Lower St. Lawrence maritime landscape that unfolds daily before her eyes, the artist creates works that highlight the estuarine zone of the St. Lawrence River in contemporary art. Like abstract horizons turned towards the future, her creations are a way for her to establish a point of contact with the richness and beauty of the estuary. The works are imbued with a spirit of balance and contemplation. From a background in graphic design, she began this series of works in 2008.

In recent years, the artist has explored softer and more organic color combinations. Her signature has evolved with greater finesse and detail. She is interested in winter maritime landscapes and will create a new series entitled "Calme blanc" (White Calm), in collaboration with Mélusine. Several of her works have also been selected and acquired by the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent over the years for the museum's annual auction.
