Isabelle Murray was born in Saguenay. Drawn to art and design, the artist moved to Bas-Saint-Laurent for her studies. She has lived there for 20 years now. It is in Rivière-du-Loup, near the river, that she works, lives, and finds her inspiration. She paints the St. Lawrence River: its light, its colors, and its vast spaces. Strongly inspired by the beauty of the Bas-Laurentian maritime landscape that unfolds daily before her eyes, the artist creates works that highlight the estuarine zone of the St. Lawrence River in contemporary art. Like abstract horizons turned towards the future, her creations are a way for her to establish a point of contact with the richness and beauty of the estuary. The works are imbued with a spirit of balance and contemplation. Coming from the world of graphic design, she began this series of works in 2008.

In recent years, the artist has explored combinations of softer and more organic color palettes. Her signature has evolved further in refinement and detail. She is interested in winter maritime landscapes and will create a new series titled Calme blanc, in collaboration with Mélusine. Many of her works will also be selected and acquired by the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent over the years for the museum's annual auction. Isabelle Murray exhibits again several times in Trois-Pistoles, a place she loves....
